WISD's Fred Elementary was featured in the Tyler County Booster! Fifth graders in Mrs. Sherri Alderman's class utilized the program Learning A-Z, which is an interactive digital program that assists learners in literacy. When using this program, students can earn digital stars for their productivity and mastery of grade level skills and TEKS. Students have two options: keep your stars and build your game or donate your stars back to the organization to be used to help provide clothing, shelter, water, and school supplies to under-privileged communities around the world. These students chose to donate!
Mrs. Alderman's class, at small Fred Elementary, donated the most stars in the entire state of Texas; winning first place in the state! Therefore, they will be published in the program's blog and receive a prize from the Learning A-Z company. To say we are proud of these students would be an understatement. Their hard work, tenacity, and dedication to a philanthropic approach to life are admirable. Way to go Warriors!
