This is Keith Collins, principal at Warren High School with our Friday Warrior Word. This week our student body elected grade level council members. They are as follows: 9th grade: President: Brenna Tillerson, VP: Brooke Johnston, Secretary: Madyson Stockton, Treasurer: Zoeigh Lognion, Reporter: Makenzie Riley, Sentinel: Levi Ledbetter. 10th grade: President: Sarah Brantley, VP: Laila Nelson, Secretary: Bryce Dees, Treasurer: Lilly Elrod, Reporter: Aadin King, Sentinel: Jenifer Saavedra. 11th grade: President: Karli Ryals, VP: Ruby Spurlock, Secretary: Emma Smith, Treasurer: Brayden Yawn, Reporter: Peter Redecop, Sentinel: Slade Mashaw. 12th grade: President: Joel Cowart, VP: Emily Jones, Secretary: Olivia Meredith, Treasurer: Sam Standley, Reporter: Timothy Craig, Sentinel: Allie Tillerson. Congratulations students and we look forward to a great year working together! Tuesday was a busy day at WHS. WHS got things going by hosting a College Fair. We had over 24 colleges and universities representing Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma. A big shout out goes to Mrs. Barbay for planning and carrying out the event! Our Wildlife Team emerged from competition as District Champions, advancing to the Regional Contest. Team - 1st Overall. Team Members: Micayla Danna-2nd Overall individual, Landon Bell-3rd Overall Individual, Everett McCormick-Top 10 Individual and Sophie Smith. Way to go Wildlife Team!! Warren FFA officers and chapter leaders traveled to Lufkin to participate in the McGee Bend District Leadership Camp on Tuesday as well. Members learned valuable leadership skills and lessons. We are Proud of chapter members Emily Jones and Ruby Spurlock who led workshops on leadership in their roles as Area and District Officers respectfully. Also on Tuesday, our Volleyball teams traveled to West Hardin and whooped the Lady Oilers. The JV swept WH in two straight sets and our Varsity squad took 3 out of 4 sets for the win. Olivia Meredith was also named MaxPreps Player of the game with 29 assists. Way to go ladies! Cross country did a great job at the West Sabine meet on Wednesday! Everyone ran their personal best times and ran against 180 plus runners in each division! Varsity girls placed in the top half, with Maylynn Herrington getting 66th place and Olivia Cowart earning 80th. Varsity Boys did an awesome job as well, with Cole West earning 17th place, Wyatt Fowler earning 20th and Joel Cowart taking 50th place! Way to go cross country team! Tonight is a big night for Warren as our volleyball team will be hosting Evadale and our football team will be hosting Kirbyville. Volleyball gets things started at 4:30 and football kickoff is at 7:30 pm. Good luck to our volleyball and football teams tonight! Also, don’t forget that we will be recognizing our First Responders during halftime of the football game! I hope everyone has a fantastic Friday and a wonderful weekend. And as always Go Warriors!
