Forestry Team

The Warren ISD School Board proudly celebrated the remarkable achievements of the Warren FFA Forestry Team, which earned a Team Silver ranking at the National FFA Convention. This prestigious honor highlights the team's dedication, exceptional skills, and hard work, placing them among the best in the nation.

The Forestry Career Development Event (CDE) is a rigorous competition designed to inspire interest in forestry and promote related education within agriculture. Participants must complete a variety of challenging tasks, including:

  • Identifying tree species, forest equipment, and disorders

  • Evaluating timber to determine wood volume

  • Interpreting topographic maps

  • Completing a compass and pacing practicum

This competition emphasizes critical thinking, technical knowledge, and teamwork, and the Warren team demonstrated excellence in all areas.

Individual Achievements

In addition to the team’s success, several Warren FFA members were recognized individually:

  • Gold Emblem: Micayla Danna

  • Silver Emblem: Sarah Decorte, Zeb Harrod, and Claire Petty

These individual awards reflect the outstanding effort and expertise of Warren FFA members, contributing to the team's overall success.

Warren ISD extends its heartfelt congratulations to the Forestry Team and their advisor, Mr. Currie, for this incredible accomplishment. The district is proud to see their hard work and talent recognized on the national stage, reflecting the strength of agricultural education within our schools.
